To get in with a chance to WIN an online t-shirt store READ ON...

When you think of the Rolling Stones what is the first image that comes into your head?

It's got to be their characteristic red tongue print that STILL fills the rails of clothing stores all over the world- and has done for the last 40 years! That's kind of insane when you think how successful that design has become.

If your fans love your music it is more than likely that if you have a cool t-shirt that they can buy at the end of your gig- especially after a few beers they won't even notice a £9.99 dent in their wallet! Saying that- its much better that they wake up the next morning loving their purchase rather than regretting it because it looks like something that was designed on back of a beer mat with a blunt pencil. The cooler the design - the more likely you'll sell your T's, and the more likely that people will make the effort to buy one online rather than leaving it to the power of your mum's sales skills at your merch stall at the back of the venue at your gig. It's probably better to let your design sell itself!

So, to get you lot thinking about approaching this important factor of decent merchandise for your act- UBR have teamed up with Clash magazine's fashion editor, some fashion experts and the BIGGEST t-shirt printing company in the UK to seek out the best band t-shirt print. We want you to submit your band's t-shirt design, to be judged by Clash's fashion editor, Pavla Kopecna, trend expert Alice Clarkson, Topman's Design Director, and the CEO of the UK's biggest t-shirt printing company Iffyton who print t-shirts for Metallica, Lily Allen, Oasis and some of the biggest selling artists in the world. The most liked design by our judging panel will win their own online t-shirt store!

"Good design is iconic, timeless and fresh. Don't overload your graphics, keep it simple. Be carefully when following trends as these come and go and your logo could end up looking quite dated quickly. Be true to your music genre, so for example, if your a heavy metal band your design should appeal to heavy metal fans" Alice Clarkson, Editor WGSN (Emap), trend experts

So to enter your design - you have from now until the 18th January to impress our judgng panel. The winning design will be announced in February 2010 on UBR. The winning band will get a FREE online t-shirt store built with some stock that YOUR BAND can sell within the store- to their fans- to get started! *
